Who Qualifies?
Who Qualifies for a Short Sale?
If you live in GA and you’ve experienced some type of hardship that has affected your ability to maintain your mortgage payments, OR if you have experienced a hardship and know that in the near future your situation will worsen and affect your ability to pay your mortgage, you may qualify for a short sale.
GA families who have been denied for a loan modification may qualify for a short sale. Many Georgia homeowners will go back and forth with their lender, attempting to modify their existing loan, only to find out they are denied. Instead of just walking away and abandoning the property, many will qualify for a short sale and avoid losing the house to foreclosure.
Others who will qualify for a short sale might include, armed forces personnel who are being transferred, those who are being relocated by an employer, a widow or widower, a divorcee, an unemployed individual, etc. There are a number of hardships being faced by many GA families. Who Doesn’t Really Qualify…
If you can still make your payments, but you just want to move…you may not qualify for a short sale. We get calls from people who are upset about being upside down with no equity to be able to sell, but lenders are very reluctant to accept a short sale when a borrower still has the ability to make their mortgage payments.
